sad news

I have sad news. My pet fish Jello went to fish heaven this past week. We did not recover the body but we think she was devoured by the clownfish's anenome. She lived a good life.

Thing 23!!!!!

Yey!!!!!!!!!! I did it! I finished the 23 things! I enjoyed doing most of it. Especially the Youtube as if you couldn't tell. I do have to be honest and say that the timing of the project was bad. Summer Reading club time is not the time of year to take on this project for me. It made me feel too stressed out trying to finish it with the time allotted during work hours.

I think it is a great learning tool and I definitely plan to go back and explore more on some of the more technical things that take time sitting in front of the computer and delving deeper into the details.

Winter would be a much better time to do this-at least for us at the circ department. If something is offered again and the timing is better I will definitely sign on!

Audibooks week 9 thing 22

I explored Overdrive and Netlibrary and I can see how this is extremely useful for those who are mobile and going mobile. I was already exposed to this while on the troubleshooters team a few years back. It is a great option to have!

Thing 20: As I said before I discovered Youtube a while back and tend to be a Youtube junkie sometimes. I found this Joan Baez video and I loved this song way back then and was thrilled to find this video. It has personal meaning to me and my life so that is why I chose it. Don't ask because I won't tell! :) Let's just say it something to do with real live fairy tales!

thing 18 I tried creating a document on the google site but apparently wasn't doing it correctly. I will go back and explore this when I have more time as I don't see myself using this right away. It is Monday night and the library is busy and I feel time constraints so I moved on to the next thing...frustrated but I'll keep on keepin' on.
thing 19 I like this. I looked at "upcoming" by Yahoo and searched for coming events in the area. This I will probably get in the habit of using since I like to go to concerts and outdoor events.

WEEK 7: Wikis Again this is not something I would use every day. If I need to do it for work I would certainly put more effort into learning it and as with all things practice makes perfect!
thing 16. I can see where it is useful for libraries what with more and more work being done over the net and it gets the info to everyone who needs to know at once and in diferent places geographically.

Week 6 tagging, Folksonomies and Technorate

thing 13: Well I got onto my blog today and just out of curiosity I hit the button at top that says next blog and to my surprise it went onto someone's blog and it was very pornagraphic. Patty can testify to it because she saw it too! And it's not even Play week! oh my! It even made me blush and for those that know me I don't blush easily! :0 Back to work! I did go on and check out Del.icio.us. Pretty cool and I understand the method to it and the why. It sure helps keep your stuff organized. But not being an techno freak It isn't something that I would use. I can see that it would be great for others who are into that kind of thing.

week 5 Play week

thing 10: I created a meez "me" and migrated it to my blog. Isn't she cute! I had already made a Yahoo avatar and this kind of stuff I love. Fun and Funky! A safe way to play out fantasy hey? Now on to thing 11!

thing 11:I went to Library thing and I created my own list of books. I can see where some may use this but it isn't something I see me using right now. But it was cool!

thin12: Since Mike and I have been on low cholesterol diets for a couple months I created a search roll at Rollyo for low c-recipes and info.

week 1 and week 2-Intro and blogging

oops I didn't say anything about the beginning exercise. I sort of knew the basics to get started I guess. the first steps were easy but when I got to Flickr It got harder.

thing 1 and 2: Not to be confused with the Dr Seuss characters, I got through these 2 steps okay.
thing 3 and 4 I also managed to complete.

I found the Flikr site very frustrating. It said I could merge with my Yahoo account and then it would not let me do it. It brought on a middle age hot flash!

thing 5: I did put a picture of the frog princess on my page.
thing 6: Mashups and 3rd party sites were just alittle challenging for me and I haven't really spent alot of time on them.

thing 7: I did post a blog earlier about Youtube and that is fun and interesting to me!

I started watching clips on You Tube a few months back and I think it is way cool! I was able to find clips of old songs, tv shows and performances that I thought were lost forever. http://youtube.com

I guess this should be thing8 on week 3.
